Supporting Ākonga in a Structured Literacy Classroom for Teacher Aides, Online (Coactive Education Consultancy)

These online workshops will support TAs who are working in learning spaces with Structured Literacy in place. There are two different workshops: for Years 1-3, and Years 4-8.
Course covers:
➤ Introduction to the foundations and principles of structured literacy.
➤ Practical strategies for supporting ākonga in small group literacy instruction, including: phonemic awareness, decoding, letter formation, spelling, high frequency words, and book reading. Workshops for Year 4-8 TAs also include multi-syllable word reading, and reading fluency development.

There are two workshops of 2 hours each over consecutive weeks.

Yr 1-3 Focus 1 & 8 May 9.30-11.30am

Yr 4-8 Focus 15 & 22 May 9.30-11.30

Yr 1-3 Focus 24 & 31 July 9.30-11.30am

Yr 4-8 Focus 7&14 Aug 9.30-11.30am
