This workshop is suitable for educators who have a foundational knowledge of a Structured Literacy approach.  You will already have a basic familiarity with the alphabetic principle, phonological awareness, the orthographic mapping process and a scope and sequence.  

In this workshop, Janice and Sharni will feather together models of a range of spelling patterns demonstrating integration with vocabulary instruction.  Keys for assessment and planning will be shared and you’ll be able to walk away with a resource bank of slides to springboard your lessons.  The new NZ English Curriculum will be feathered into the workshop also to support your familiarisation with the document.
