One-day Structured Literacy Tier 2 & 3 Intervention Workshop, Invercargill (Marianne Brown Literacy Resources)

Workshop for anyone who is working as a literacy intervention teacher, wanting to start an intervention programme, SENCO’s, RTLits, RTLB’s, tutors or teachers interested in lifting their practice to the next level.

In this one-day course, I share what I have learned in the past 8 years using a Structured Literacy approach with my intervention students. Together, we will explore evidence based practices built on the Science of Reading and Learning. This is a highly practical course that builds on the teacher’s prior knowledge of the theory behind Structured Literacy.

What is covered:

  • How to set up an intervention programme (we go through what it looks like and what is needed to run an effective programme)

  • How to build fluency and comprehension and practical ideas to do this.

  • How to get students encoding and decoding accurately .

  • Learn how to move reluctant readers.

  • See a Structured Literacy Intervention lesson being modelled.

  • Explore resources that reinforce learning.

  • Q&A - Ask me those questions that help you with your situation.
